The new X212AF line array in dramatic roman amphitheatre

Amate Audio’s new X212AF advanced 3-way line array was FOH for Boris Brejcha at the Positiv Festival on 5 September in the Roman Théâtre antique d’Orange in southeastern France.

Sound hire company DIDO Music supplied an all Amate Audio FOH system, comprising left / right stacks of just five X212AF line array elements and a X218WF sub, together with two further X212AF front fills, flooding the 9000 capacity filled Roman amphitheatre with sound for festival.

The festival line up, featuring Nicolas Cuer and Reinier Zonneveld, was headlined by Berlin DJ and producer Boris Brejcha: purveyor of his own genre of ‘hightech minimal’ techno and man in the Viennese carnival mask.

The X212AF is an advanced V-shape geometry, phase linear line array, with a 2x 12”, 4x 6” MF and dual 3” HF transducer configuration and proprietary acoustic design features – including the ABS mid-phase plugs, all-new HF waveguide and sonically transparent 1.5mm speaker grille– the X212AF incorporatesdiscrete 3-way power channels with independent limiters (with differing time constants), and multi-channel DSP system management via Amate Audio’s Active+ integrated power and control platform.

With unique touchscreen GUI operation and monitoring, in these X212AF Active+ delivers a 4000 W total power rating and includes a series of powerful System Presets for near instantaneous set-up of the most common cabinet configurations in the most regularly encountered application environments. Enhanced control parameters include advanced FIR/IIR filtering, 100 meter delay, extensive parametric EQ options and cabinet tilt calibration indication. There is alsooptional Dante®AoIP networking.
