One of the main features of a digital signal processor (DSP) are the limiters. Using them we can guarantee that the maximum signal input in the amplifiers is below a threshold. Usually, this threshold is set just below the mechanical drive limit of the speakers, or a maximum SPL set by the application. If the threshold is set to low, the performance of the system is wasted away. If set too high, the speakers might be damaged.
For applications where all the electronics in the signal chain are our own Amate Audio systems, we developed an app with lab parameters that let us to configure the limiters so you can get 100% of system performance without compromising the safety of the loudspeakers. The application can be found in the following link: LimCal.
