Nítid on ice in Cambridge
At the end of last year Amate Audio suppied 12 Nítid N15 active systems, via our UK distributor Stage Concepts, for the audio installation in the new Cambridge Ice Arena, in the UK.
Working closely with Stage Concepts, who were contracted to supply custom truss, lighting rig and PA system for the €6.3m state-of-the-art facility, together we designed a system offering the minimum of complexity with highly consistent levels of SPL throughout the arena.
The client, Ice Tech – who designed and implemented the build – wanted something to offer a striking look and the facility to easily add more lighting, and offer natural positions for the PA. The active Nitid N15, ideal for use in extreme temperatures and with its remote power switching feature when not in use, was selected for the installation. With 1500 W of integrated active amplification and DSP system management, and high SPLs, just six N15 cabinets each, flown from two double layer hex design trusses, provides highly consistent levels of SPL throughout the entire arena.
Our EASE Focus acoustic prediction software was used to determine the optimum positioning of the N15s for the best coverage.
